Badminton Court
The club offers competitive badminton players an outlet to continue to develop their skills and keep in shape during their tenure at NYU. In addition to our practice times where we do conditioning exercises & drills, we also participate in multiple tournaments/scrimmages against other schools in the Northeast Region and greater US, providing ample opportunity to play badminton while studying at NYU. The club also offers a sense of community among enthusiasts of the sport, as many of our team members develop friendships that start on-court, and continue off-court and even after their time at NYU comes to an end.The NYU Badminton team is highly competitive with at least two years of experience recommended when trying out for the team.

Reservations are for one hour only and for only one reservation per day per person or group for a specific space. An individual may, however, make reservations for different types of courts at different times.
Hamel Recreation Center's third floor offers courts that can be used as badminton courts. The courts are available for use by students and Hamel Rec members. The schedule of the court can be seen at campusrec.unh.edu.
I would suggest that you call the numbers I listed in this blog to ask what days and times they offer open play for badminton for that week. Days and times may vary due to holidays or the facility may rent out their building for various reasons.
Thank you for the list. I play only in Balboa, but summer is the perfect time to change something ? I also thought to join AIR`s event -badminton-on-saturday-afternoon to meet new people. Could you tell me smth about this Badminton Club, if you know?
My 6th grader got interested in badminton during a trip home to Canada a few years ago and would like to continue with some lessons. Anyone have any advice as to where and how to get this started? Preferably in a group setting. Thanks!

In badminton, the serve must be hit in an upwards direction, with an underarmhitting action. You are not allowed to play a tennis style serve.The main rule here is that when you hit the shuttle, it must be below yourwaist. To be exact, the rules define this to be a height level with the lowestpart of your ribcage. In other words, you can serve from a bit higher than thetop of your shorts, but not much.Service courts
Jersey City Badminton Club is a family operated facility for professional and amateur who love to play badminton. The club is located at 95 Broadway, Jersey City, NJ - 07306. For exact GPS location, please use 85 Giles ave, Jersey City, NJ - 07306. Player has to book a court inorder to use the facility. Due to COVID resitrctions we dont accept walk-in.
1) Mask up all time inside the building (except the time you play) - this needs to be followed very strictly 2) Temperature check at the entrance (acceptance level 99.8F)3) Social distancing guidelines should be maintained4) Max 20 players inside the building at all time. One player needs to checkin and wait in car/outside, once the court becomes free we will call you in.5) Bring your own shuttlecock and water bottles (You can buy it from us if needed)6) COVID-19 Health Questionnaire Form needs to be filled by players everytime during Check-in 7) Slots will close 5mins before the scheduled time, to allow players to exit before the next slot players arrive.
